North Georgia Proposal - Ellijay, GA

When Baxter reached out to me to document their proposal I was BEYOND excited. He came to me before planning anything else - which is honestly my favorite thing! I was able to help him choose the location (this spot is a favorite of mine), the time of day (will forever advocate for sunrise), and how to have me capture it without Morgan seeing! We FaceTimed, planned, sent maps with arrows on where to go, and just got so excited for this morning. ⁣

To say it was perfect would be an understatement - my whole drive to the location was foggy but once we got there the sky opened up for the most beautiful sunrise.

While I crouched behind a wall hiding (and obtaining about 100 bug bites - well worth it), Morgan and Baxter hiked up this 5 minute trail and made it to the structure. I had given Baxter an exact time frame to get down on his knee from when they parked (I also had him share his location with me so I could see when they arrived) and so as soon as I popped up over the wall, he was giving his speech to Morgan. Every time I shoot a proposal, it takes everything in me not to cry but this one was just extra special since Morgan is a dear friend of mine, and I had several tears flow down my cheeks.

Morgan’s reaction was just everything - if you can’t tell from the photos - and she was also SO excited to see ME! Which made it so much more fun! We spent a few minutes taking some extra ‘engagement’ photos before they went off to breakfast and to celebrate with their families.

Morgan and I met a few years ago in Athens and together we got entrepreneurship certificates at UGA!!! She is an INCREDIBLE florist + person over all (check out her website: https://marigoflowers.com). It was so much fun getting to grow our businesses together while being in school, and it makes me so happy to see her flourishing post grad - in her personal AND professional life!!! ⁣

I can’t wait to cheer Baxter + Morgan on throughout their life - they are such a kind couple and I love them so much ❤️ I hope you love these photos as much as I do.
